Traditionally, we spend Thanksgiving in Kansas City. We were a small group this year; Jennifer, Wes, Bailey and Olivia, and our oldest daughter, Angie and son Carson made up the group. We were able to get to KC by 1pm so we could all have lunch at Panera. Then back to the house to cook and drink wine. Jennifer got some things done early as the girls had afternoon appts , but there was still plenty to do. Angie made her unbelievable broccoli and cauliflower gratin. Very good with lots of cream and cheese -- everyone has at least two helpings. This warms my heart, seeing my girls side by side in the kitchen. They are both extraordinary cooks. I didn't cook until early am as my contribution was pie and I believe they must be made in the morning, the day of.....
| Dinner was delicious, as usual. We tried this year not to prepare too much food, but as usual there were lots of left overs. |
