Updated Me...

I'm back and armed with a new iPad and a new mobile internet connection--Hot Spot, that should enable me to blog and post pictures on the go, at will, and a renewed motivation to blog.  I'll be getting my feet wet this week while I'm in Spring Green, WI.

I've spent this morning in my hotel room in Spring Green, WI re-learning how to use my blog site.  Had trouble signing in as it has been so long and I've changed emails, etc...took me awhile to get it all figured out.

Drove to Spring Green, WI with Jean Elliot, from the Milwaukee area, on Tuesday for Country Sampler's annual Boxwood and Berries Gathering.  This will be a good warm up, as Chuck and I are planning fall vacation the first week in October.  This week  I'll be able to practice taking pictures with my iPad and get some experience posting 'on the go'.

Country Sampler Quilt Shop in Spring Green, WI is my favorite place to go.  Jeanne Horton, owner, is so creative in her presentation of everything home.  The quilts in the shop are all made by the shop girls and are truly inspiring.

I know whenever I walk thru this door, I'm going to be going home with lots of projects and cool stuff for my house.

The gathering is held in 'The Schoolroom' - a completely separate building behind the shop.

The tables are all ready for us.  Our projects and name tags are at our places.

Breakfast is made and served by Vicki and Selma two of the shop girls.

Wednesday and Thursday we will be taking a cross stitch class to make this really neat project bag and floss holder.  Probably won't get all the stitching done in two days, but we'll have lots of time to visit and catch up with old friends and meet new ones.  it will mean lots of breaks to browse the shop and get ideas we can take home with us.
Our project came in a little upholstered suitcase.
We will walk two blocks to the General Store for lunch each day.  They have the most amazing food, the weather is absolutely gorgeous, and we've come to call the people at the General Store our friends.  Small town--they aren't really open for breakfast until 9am, but the door is unlocked at 7am and you can serve your own coffee and read the paper or visit if you want--I love it!!!

Chuck took a ride up on Wednesday to joint us for dinner and stay overnight.  He understands now what draws me to this event every year.

Dinner was a the Riverside Resort Restaurant on Wednesday night.  We sat outside and enjoyed the river and a drink before we had Italian buffet.
